The weekend, day by day

Three events, all on the estate. Each one has an 'add to my calendar' button that puts it into your phone at the right Italian time, so there's no mental arithmetic.

Downloads one file with the whole weekend in it. Works with Apple Calendar, Google Calendar and Outlook.

All three happen on the estate. Nothing to arrange between them, no taxis to book, and nobody driving after a drink.

  1. Friday 1 October

    Arrivals & welcome dinner

    6.30pm – 10.30pm · time to be confirmed

    Check in, find your room, get a glass of the estate's own Chianti Rufina into your hand. Dinner is on the terrace if the weather plays along, and in the restaurant if it doesn't. No speeches and no seating plan, and no obligation to last past nine if the flight has broken you.

    Where: Villa Grassina, the estate restaurant and terrace
    Dress: Smart casual. Whatever survived the flight.
    Getting there: You'll already be here, since everyone is staying on the estate. If you're landing on Friday, send us your arrival time and we'll put you on a transfer from the airport.
    Kids: Kids welcome. Ours will be feral by this point and yours are welcome to join in.

  2. Saturday 2 October

    Main event

    The celebration

    5pm – 11.30pm · time to be confirmed

    The main event, and the one to plan the rest of your trip around. Drinks as the sun goes down over the hills, then a long dinner, then a party that will run well past the time on this card. Sunset is just before 7pm, so come out early if you want the light.

    Where: Villa Grassina
    Dress: Cocktail. Suits and cocktail dresses, and shoes that can handle gravel.
    Getting there: Walk downstairs. This is the whole reason we booked somewhere we could all sleep. Nobody drives, nobody books a taxi, nobody leaves early to catch one.
    Kids: Kids welcome throughout, and the bedrooms are a two minute walk from the party. That's the other reason.

  3. Sunday 3 October

    Farewell lunch

    12pm – 3pm · time to be confirmed

    A long, slow lunch before everyone scatters. Drop in whenever you surface. There's no set arrival time and no obligation if you've got a flight to catch. The pool is heated if anyone fancies it.

    Where: Villa Grassina, the restaurant
    Dress: However you feel. Several of us will look worse than you.
    Getting there: Downstairs again. Check out is flexible, so tell us if you need a late one.
    Kids: Kids very welcome.

A note on the times

These are our working plan rather than the final word. They're close enough to book flights around and nothing is going to move by more than an hour or two, but we'll confirm them properly once we've sat down with the estate. If anything changes we'll email everyone, and the calendar files here get updated to match.
